1. Information we collect

Account data (email address, encrypted password); profile data you choose to provide (username, profile photo, about text, city, country, Instagram and website links); content you post (photos, descriptions, comments, likes, follows); and technical data automatically processed by our hosting providers (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and operation.

2. How we use it

To provide and secure the Service, to show your public profile and content, to send account-related emails (e.g. confirmation, password reset), to prevent abuse and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising.

3. Public information

Your username, profile details, photos, comments, likes and follows are public and can be viewed by anyone. Do not post information you want to keep private.

4. Service providers

We use third-party providers for hosting, database, storage and email delivery. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries. Images from public archives such as Wikimedia Commons are loaded directly from those servers.

5. Cookies and local storage

We only use storage strictly necessary to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your content at any time and request deletion of your account by email.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the CCPA/CPRA or the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data and to object to certain processing. Contact us at info@mlhistory.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
